Academically talented, the first year class has a mean test score of 1354, and a mean high school GPA of 3.65 on a 4.0 scale. In addition, six students are enrolling as Cunniffe Presidential Scholars, 102 as Semifinalist Scholars (National Merit and National Hispanic Scholars), and 106 as Dean’s Scholars.
The University continues to draw a sizable percentage of students from the New York Metropolitan area, with New York and New Jersey the top states for enrollment. California, which occupies the third spot, sent 154 students this year, compared to 135 last year. Connecticut and Massachusetts round out the top five spots.
The number of international students represents roughly 10 percent of the incoming class. China, India, and Vietnam are the top three countries represented.
“We are delighted to welcome this extraordinarily talented and diverse Class of 2022 to the Fordham family,” said John W. Buckley, vice president for admission and student financial services.
“They were selected from an impressive applicant pool of more than 46,000, and are among the most accomplished students from across the country and around the globe.”
