From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:
Dear Members of the Campus Community:
Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions and University operations for the end of the fall semester:
- In the period from October 28 through November 10, 51 people in the University community tested positive for COVID-19. (Please remember to submit the results of off-campus tests to the University: Faculty and staff to VitalCheck at covidresults@getvitalcheck.com
; students via my.fordham.edu.) - For the first time this semester, the University’s positive COVID-19 test rate is above one percent (1.38%): please observe COVID-19 precautions, including wearing a mask and social distancing, to protect yourselves and the University community for the last ten days of on-campus instruction.
- A reminder that if one person in a classroom tests positive, everyone physically present in the class may be required to quarantine for 14 days, depending upon classroom size and duration. The University has more than adequate space for students who have tested positive, or who were possibly exposed to the virus, to quarantine on campus.
- As of today, Nov. 13, at 10 p.m., the governor of New York has mandated that bars, restaurants and gyms, as well as any State Liquor Authority-licensed establishment, must close in-person service from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily; and that indoor and outdoor gatherings at private residences will be limited to no more than 10 people.
- As you prepare to travel home for Thanksgiving, please make yourself familiar with the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 Travel Guidelines.
For more information, please see the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web.
