From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:

Dear Members of the University Community,

As I’m sure you know, in-person classes will end on the eve of the Thanksgiving break, and will not resume until February 1.

Those faculty and staff who will be coming on campus over the winter break are required to be tested once in December and again in January. However, testing during the break will be available during these periods:

  • Monday, November 30 through Monday, December 21, 2020: Testing will be available at Lincoln Center and Rose Hill every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 22 through Sunday, January 3: No on-campus testing available.
  • Monday, January 4, through Friday, January 15, 2021: Testing will be available at Lincoln Center and Rose Hill every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The University will release a testing schedule with more days and extended hours in early January for the last two weeks of the month. All faculty and staff must be tested within 7 days prior to the University’s February 1 reopening. (Students will receive a separate communication about testing and campus access.)

Faculty and Staff who are working on campus over the break and/or returning to in-person campus activities on February 1 should remain on VitalCheck over the break. The rule of thumb is, if you are on VitalCheck now, please remain on it over the break.

With the exception of Fordham Westchester, all buildings will remain open until the last day of final exams, December 22. On December 23, the University will close all buildings per the normal winter break schedule, with the exception of libraries, which will remain open with limited hours. Facilities for students who are in residence over the break will remain open, in coordination with Student Affairs and Athletics. The Westchester campus will close on November 25, and reopen Monday, January 25, 2021. Anyone needing to enter a closed building should contact Public Safety at the appropriate campus at least two days in advance to arrange access.

We wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving, and a joyous and safe holiday season.

Sincerely,

Marco Valera
Vice President for Administration and COVID-19 Coordinator
