Tony was of immense help to my research, and his breadth and depth of knowledge of chess history, and his familiarity with individual personalities in chess (from Kashdan to Karpov) was remarkable. Another connection was that Tony captained the Fordham University Chess Team to the 1954 Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship, when the popularity of University Chess Teams was in their heyday.
