A Vision for Social Work in the Next 100 Years: Staying the Course in Response to Our Veterans
Friday, November 11, 2016, 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
In honor of the Centennial celebration of the Fordham Graduate School of Social Service and Veteran’s Day, the event will feature keynote speaker, David L. Albright, PhD, associate professor and Hill Crest Foundation Endowed Chair in Mental Health at the University of Alabama School of Social Work.
Dr. Albright will address the ways in which the social work profession can promote the well being of veterans on an individual, family, organizational and community level. The keynote address will be followed by a panel discussion featuring members of the faculty, military social work practitioners and veterans. We hope to explore ways in which the social work profession could be more responsive on multiple intervention levels to veterans and their family members. If you have wondered about how you can contribute as a social worker in a professional or personal manner, please come honor veterans and help us celebrate 100 years!
LMSWs and LCSWs will receive 2 Continuing Education Hours (CEH) for this event.
