The Fordham Center on Religion and Culture presents The Russo Family Lecture

In his first address to an American audience since retiring as Vatican spokesman, Federico Lombardi, S.J., will examine the contrasts between Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI and Pope Francis—but also the deep continuities that are often overlooked.

Following the lecture, John Thavis, former Rome bureau chief for Catholic News Service and author of The Vatican Diaries, will lead a conversation with Father Lombardi, now chairman of the Ratzinger Foundation, about Catholicism’s path forward under the Jesuit pope.
