In honor of Fordham’s Dodransbicentennial Celebration, the general topic for the Edit-a-Thon will be the history of Fordham. But in keeping with the spirit of the Edit-a-Thon movement, we would like to take this opportunity to enrich Wikipedia with edits and articles about underrepresented groups and events in Fordham history. Along the way, we will learn a lot about how to evaluate content in Wikipedia, how Wikipedia works, and best practices for contributing to the world’s largest crowd-sourced encyclopedia.

All skill levels are welcome — orientation and training will be provided for beginners, and plenty of computers will be available for use. Don’t know much about Fordham’s history? Don’t let that stop you from participating–Fordham librarians will be on hand to help participants navigate print and electronic reference sources that can be used when updating and adding Fordham-related content in Wikipedia.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!
