Come hear Dr. Gabrielle Hecht, Professor of History and Frank Stanton Foundation Professor of Nuclear Security, Stanford University, give a talk entitled “Residual Governance, or How African Anthropocenes Foretell Planetary Futures.” This talk examines mine waste in South Africa, suggesting that African Anthropocenes prefigure planetary futures.
