Alumni Chapter of Boston: 2019 Day of Service

Join the Fordham Alumni Chapter of Boston in the Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Statewide Volunteer Day at the Boston Nature Center in Mattapan! We will be helping to pull weeds, reapply compost and mulch, and prune in the Butterfly Garden, Nature Nook, and surrounding areas.

A tour of the Boston Nature Center’s sustainable features will be provided. They include a living green roof, photovoltaic arrays, and the city’s first green building with geothermal climate control, solar hot water, and many other features.

This is an outdoor project. Please dress for the weather: Wear long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Bring garden gloves and gardening tools if you have them.
