This event costs $15 per person. Appetizers\, beer\, wine\, and soda will be provided. \nAdvance registration is required. \nCurrent MSW students may attend this event free of charge. To register\, please email Alby Tello at tello@fordham.edu with your name and graduation year. Registration is required. \nLMSW/LCSW students will earn 1 CEU for attending. \nMarciana Popescu\, Ph.D.\, has been working in the field of international social development for more than 20 years. She has partnered with international organizations and educational institutions in multiple countries\, including Romania\, Ukraine\, Italy\, Japan\, Kenya\, and South Africa. Popescu’s research interests include women’s rights\, displacement and the impact of displacement and forced migration on women\, empowerment strategies for women\, international interdisciplinary social work education\, program evaluation\, and the role of international organizations in addressing global issues. Much of her work focuses on identifying ways in which governments\, international organizations\, and communities can contribute to developing rights-based policies and programs. \nPopescu recently returned from Europe after spending five months as a senior Fulbright scholar at the Management Center of Innsbruck (MCI) in Austria\, where she conducted research on migration policies and the impact on women refugees throughout Europe. \nThis event is sponsored by Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service and Office of Alumni Relations.
