DESCRIPTION:Join us to see Cinderella for the 21st century! Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest musical is “a big\, colorful\, fun fairy-tale rewrite” (The New York Times)\, which adds up not just to a ball\, but a blast (The Guardian). \nAdapted for modern times\, the classic fairy tale features an original story and book by Oscar-winning writer Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman\, Killing Eve) and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zippel (City of Angels). The production is choreographed by Joann M. Hunter (School of Rock) and directed by Laurence Connor (Les Misérables). \nAfter the show\, Fordham alumni and guests are invited to a private talkback in the theater with the executive producer of Bad Cinderella\, John Johnson\, FCLC ’02. \nSeats are located in the orchestra section.

SUMMARY:Carousel on Broadway
DESCRIPTION:About the Musical\n“One of the most hallowed works of the American stage” (The New York Times) returns to Broadway for the first time in more than two decades. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless musical Carousel comes to life in a new production starring Tony-nominee Joshua Henry\, Tony-winner Jessie Mueller\, and Renée Fleming in her first-ever appearance in a Broadway musical. \nSet in a small New England factory town\, Carousel describes the tragic romance between a troubled carnival barker and the young woman who gives up everything for him. Elevated to an epic scale with a sweeping musical score and incandescent ballet sequences\, this story of passion\, loss\, and redemption introduced Broadway to a new manner of musical drama — one that “set the standard for the 20th century musical” (Time Magazine) and would captivate theatergoers for generations to come. \nEvent Details\nBefore heading to the show\, we’ll gather for dinner at a restaurant near the theater. This is a great opportunity to meet some of your fellow alumni! We’ll also have the chance to hear from a special guest speaker with a Fordham connection. \nTickets are $210 per person and include both dinner and the show. Our tickets are in the Orchestra section and will be handed out during dinner. \nThe restaurant and guest speaker are TBA. This information will be emailed to you one week prior to the event.
