DESCRIPTION:Dr. Hepp is an Associate Professor of Economics at Fordham and has published research on various issues ranging from monetary policy\, debt relief initiatives\, fiscal federalism\, and current account imbalances. \nDr. Hepp’s current research investigates the consequences of climate policies\, specifically carbon border adjustment mechanisms (CBAMs)\, on international trade flows. He has been at Fordham since 2006\, teaching courses in international economics at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

The webinar will focus on China-Russia relations. \nAbout the Speakers\nThomas Graham was special assistant to the president and senior director for Russia on the National Security Council staff from 2004 to 2007\, during which he managed a White House-Kremlin strategic dialogue. He was director for Russian affairs on the staff from 2002 to 2004. \nBonny Lin is a senior fellow for Asian security and director of the China Power Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Previously\, she was the acting associate director of the Strategy and Doctrine Program of RAND Project AIR FORCE and a political scientist at the RAND Corporation\, where she analyzed different aspects of China’s foreign and defense policy and U.S. competition with China\, including China’s use of gray zone tactics against U.S. allies and partners.

During her four-decade-long diplomatic career\, she held several important assignments. She was India’s first woman spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs\, New Delhi; the first woman high commissioner from her country to Sri Lanka; and the first Indian woman ambassador to the People’s Republic of China. Ambassador Rao holds an honorary doctor of letters degree from Pondicherry University in India.
