DESCRIPTION:The Alumni Chapter of Northern California invites you to a private docent tour of the Tamara de Lempicka exhibit at the de Young Museum. Alumni\, parents\, friends\, and family are all welcome to join. \nThe event cost varies based on level and includes all-day access to the de Young and Legion of Honor museums. Space is limited to 15 participants and registrations will be honored on a first-come\, first-served basis. \nWe encourage you to register early. RSVP by January 30. \nAbout the exhibit: Tamara de Lempicka (1894–1980) helped define Art Deco\, and her paintings captured the glamour and vitality of postwar Paris and the cosmopolitan sheen of Hollywood celebrity. This exhibition—the first major museum retrospective of Lempicka in the United States—explores the artist’s distinctive style and unconventional life. \nPlease consider making a gift of $25 or more to support an area of your choice at Fordham.

SUMMARY:Alumni Chapter of Northern California: Monet Exhibit Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join the Fordham Alumni Chapter of Northern California on a private docent-led tour of “Monet: The Late Years.” This exhibit showcases “Water Lilies\,” along with 50 paintings by Claude Monet dating mainly from 1913 to 1926\, the final phase of his long career. This exhibit explores how loss—the death of his second wife and the diagnosis of cataracts—spurred Monet to push the boundaries of his practice in both complexity and scale. After the tour\, you are welcome to join the group for lunch at the café. \nThis event costs $40 per person. Senior tickets are also available at $38 per person. Tickets for children under 6 and Fine Arts Museum (FAM) members are $11. Tickets include early entry to view the Monet exhibit before the general public\, our docent-led tour\, entry to all exhibits in the museum including the Paul Gauguin exhibit “A Spiritual Journey\,” and same-day admission to the Legion of Honor. \nRSVP by February 12\, 2019. Advance registration is required. Payment can be made directly to Mark Di Giorgio. \nOur group is limited to 20 people by the museum. RSVPs will be honored on a first-come\, first-served basis.
