Maria Watson has been appointed director of development and major giving for WFUV (90.7 FM, wfuv.org), Fordham University’s non-commercial public radio station. Watson, former director of development for the Brooklyn Philharmonic and director of marketing and communications at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, will head up fundraising for the listener-sponsored station.
“I’ve admired WFUV’s independent voice and unwavering commitment to music for a long time,” said Watson, calling it a “thrill to now join this great station and to help continue its success.”
Watson holds a bachelor of musical arts degree from the University of Michigan.
Housed on Fordham’s Rose Hill campus, WFUV serves over 330,000 listeners in the New York area and thousands more worldwide via the web. The station offers a mix of rock, blues, world and other music.
