Antique Pharmaceutical Tools On Display

An exhibition of more than 200 antique pharmaceutical instruments, donated by the family of a 1932 graduate of Fordham College of Pharmacy, will be on display Jan. 17 to June 30, 2000, at The William D. Walsh Family Library, Fordham University Rose Hill Campus. The collection, valued at $17,000, belonged to Joseph Slotnik, a Westchester County pharmacist whose career spanned nearly half a century before his death in 1997. It includes more than 50 brightly decorated white ceramic apothecary jars, as well as 40 mortars and pestles made of brass, wood, iron, bronze, porcelain and glass.
