Fordham University mourns the loss of Ryan Halliday, a student at Fordham College at Rose Hill who died on Feb. 21 after a long illness.
Halliday, a Brooklyn resident and the son of Bert M. Halliday Jr. and Mary Jean Halliday-Farrell, entered Catholic University in Washington as a freshman in the fall of 2008. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the summer of 2009, and took a medical leave for the fall of 2009 and spring of 2010.
With his cancer in remission, he attended St. Francis College in Brooklyn for a semester as a non-matriculated student, and transferred to Fordham in the fall of 2010. He attended Fordham as a commuter student.
A funeral mass was held Feb. 24 at Our Lady of Angels Church, and he was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery.
