Fordham Law School and the Association of Muslim American Lawyers will host a discussion on the legal structures and financial viability of Islamic finance, one of the fastest growing sectors in the United States and global economies on Monday, Feb. 7.
The program’s featured speakers are Omar T. Mohammedi (LAW ’95), managing partner of Omar T. Mohammedi, LLC; and Monem A. Salam, director and vice president of Islamic investing at Saturna Capital.

Mohammedi was appointed to the New York City Human Rights Commission by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He litigates high profile cases and handles Islamic estate planning and trusts. Salam is a regular contributor to Islamic finance magazines, and speaks frequently on finance to Islamic communities. He is also the chairman of Peaceful Communications, a non-profit organization supporting films and documentaries about Muslims in America.
