executive director of the Center for Catholic School Leadership, presented at a conference at the Monastery of the Augustinian Monks of Klosterneuburg in Vienna, Austria this summer. He also presented on the “Formation of Catholic School Leaders for the Vatican” in June at the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris, France.

Marie Ward Doty Professor of Psychology and director of the Fordham Center for Ethics Education, was appointed chair of the Ethics Code Task Force of the American Public Health Association. She also was awarded a supplemental grant to expand her current NIMHD grant award to study ethical issues in HIV research involving transgender youth.

professor of communication and media management, was the lead author of a paper presented at conference entitled “New Media, Old Money: Digital Technology, Social Media and the New Challenges to Campaigning and Democracy” at the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C.

professor of psychology, presented two papers, “Muslim American Mothers’ Perceptions of Child Behavior Problems” and “The Relationships of Coping Style and Ethnicity/Culture to Co-rumination in Adolescents,” at the American Psychological Association’s annual convention in Toronto in August 2015. Mark E. Mattson PhD, associate professor of psychology, was a co-author of the first paper, and Se-Kang Kim, PhD, associate professor of psychology, was a co-author of the second paper.

professor of communication and media studies, presented a paper entitled “Religion as a Necessary Engine of Space Travel” at the Institute of General Semantics Language and ‘Reality’ Symposium in New York City on October 2-4.
Dean McKay, PhD, A&S,
professor of psychology, has been named chair of the taskforce on Panic Disorder Treatment Guidelines of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, and has received a grant for “Education and Treatment of Selective Sound Sensitivity (Misophonia)” from the SPD Foundation. He has also published two articles, “Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic Therapies: Points of Intersection and Divergence” and “Contemporary Cognitive-Behavior Therapy,” in Psychoanalytic Psychiatry and “Efficacy of Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder” in Psychiatry Research.

professor of communication and media studies, presented “The Touching Interface of the Cosmos” at the Institute of General Semantics Language and ‘Reality’ Symposium in New York City on October 2-4 and “Formal Cause and Patterns of Connection ” at the Patterns of Connection: Gregory Bateson, American Pragmatism and European Philosophy Pre-Conference of the Pennsylvania Communication Association in York, Pennsylvania on October 8-9. He was also a respondent for a program on Theoretical Issues of Health Communication from a Phenomenological Perspective at the 76th Annual Pennsylvania Communication Association Convention in York, Pennsylvania, October 9-10 and participated on a panel on Celebrity Old and New at the 73rd Annual New York State Communication Association Conference on October 16-18.
