The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) honored more than 25 master’s and doctoral degree students at its sixth annual awards ceremony on May 4 in the Great Hall of Duane Library on the Rose Hill campus.
The graduate students were recognized for receiving competitive awards during the 2006-2007 academic year, including Fulbright Fellowships to such places as France and China, as well other prestigious scholarships.
Joseph M. McShane, S.J., president of Fordham University, presented the awards, and Mary Bly, Ph.D., associate professor of English and director of graduate studies in the Department of English, delivered the keynote address.
GSAS also recognized the more than 50 recipients of its various funding awards that assist students with expenses related to conference presentations, research and the completion of their dissertations.
