DESCRIPTION:Join the MOSAIC alumni chapter for a special volunteer opportunity at God’s Love We Deliver\, a nonprofit that provides high-quality meals to the sick and those with food insecurity. Volunteers will help with kitchen prep with the guidance of their staff chefs. Tasks may include packaging meals\, chopping onions\, making meatballs\, ladling soup\, peeling potatoes\, scooping baked goods\, or preparing fresh herbs. \nPlease note that volunteers will be required to register separately with God’s Love We Deliver after they sign up on this page. This must be done by January 11. Additional information and the link to register with GLWD will be sent out in the confirmation email. \nSpace is limited to 10 volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Every year\, our Holiday Toy Drive reminds us of the heart of Fordham\, where we show up for our neighbors\, celebrate community\, and ensure that Bronx families experience the joy and dignity of the season. This December\, we’re excited to invite students\, faculty\, staff\, alumni\, and partners to participate in one of our most cherished traditions. \nThis year’s giveaway is especially important. With families across our surrounding neighborhoods still recovering from multiple fires and displacement\, we are committed to making sure every child who walks through our doors feels seen\, supported\, and celebrated. \nThere are several opportunities for engagement: \n\nDonate a gift from now through Tuesday\, Dec. 16. The toys should be unwrapped and geared toward ages ranging from newborn to 17. Drop-off locations include: Lowenstein lobby\, Gabelli School of Business lobby and CCEL office (Room 140 at 140 W. 62nd St.)\, McShane Campus Center entrance and CCEL office (Room 215)\, and the Public Safety office at Rose Hill.\nSponsor an age group or station at the giveaway event with your department.\nVolunteer to wrap presents Tuesday\, Dec. 16\, 3 to 8 p.m. or Wednesday\, Dec. 17\, noon to 5 p.m. at the McShane Student Center.\nVolunteer at the giveaway event Thursday\, Dec. 18\, 3 to 8 p.m. at the McShane Student Center.\n\nClick register to sign up and learn more. DESCRIPTION:Fordham’s Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development (Fordham IPED) will be hosting a UN Side Event together with Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Internationalis on November 14 (Friday) from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. The forum will commemorate the World Day of the Poor. \nMsgr Marco Formica\, Counselor for the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations will be providing the opening remarks. Mr. Sean Callahan\, President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services will give the keynote address on the global aid crisis. \nFordham Professor Henry Schwalbenberg\, Ph.D.\, and M.A. IPED students\, Ms. Adriana Curto and Ms. Viviene Hirwa\, will be presenting the 2025 Fordham Francis Index Report. The Fordham Francis Index is a multi-dimensional poverty index that monitors recent global trends in Food\, Water\, Housing\, Employment\, Education\, Gender and Religious Freedom. \nThe event will be held at the Church Center for United Nations\, 777 UN Plaza\, corner of East 44th St. and First Ave.\, 8th Floor\, New York.
