Professional Licensing Course: N.Y.S. Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment

This professional licensing course: on New York state identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment course is being offered to Fordham students for $25. The course covers important information professionals who are mandated to report suspected child abuse and neglect need to know, including:
- Definitions of abuse and neglect
- Emotional indicators of abuse and neglect
- How to report suspected cases
- The family court system and its relationship to investigations of abuse and neglect
- Behavioral indicators of abuse and neglect
- Family dynamics in abusing and neglecting families
- The child protective services system investigation
Registration is limited to 45 people.

This course is required for any professional who is or who plans to be licensed by the New York State Department of Education. All those who attend and arrive on time will receive the New York State Education Department Certification of Completion form.
