Civil Disobedience in Comics

Sunday, November 20, 2016, 12:00 pm9:00 pm

Lowenstein 419
113 West 60th Street
New York, NY 10023 United States
+ Google Map

We are getting together students, academics, ARTISTS, organizers, writers, historians, graphic designers, and immigration lawyers (and anyone who wants to help!) to put together a graphic guidebook/primer on how to understand the history of civil disobedience in the United States, ways to protect our communities, etc.

Inspired by Martin Luther King Junior’s own work on a comic book from the1950s for the civil rights movement called Martin Luther King and the Montgomery Story, we will work together to produce teaching/learning materials that are clear and visual, intending to reach new audiences.
