Professor Barbara Jackson, Ed.D., chair of the Division of Administration, Policy and Urban Education in the Graduate School of Education (GSE), was recently awarded the University Council for Educational Administration’s (UCEA) Road F. Campbell Lifetime Achievement Award. “Barbara Jackson has been a dynamic force in strengthening the quality of our administration programs,” said GSE Dean Regis Bernhardt, Ph.D. “Her strong relationships with practicing professionals, national and local organizations, and with key decision makers have enabled us to expand the impact of our preparation programs and research efforts.” The award, instituted in 1992, recognizes senior professors in the field of educational administration whose professional lives have been characterized by extraordinary commitment, excellence, leadership, productivity, generosity and service. The award pays tribute to the pioneering life of Campbell, whose career spanned many years and exemplified these characteristics. Jackson, a member of the Fordham faculty since 1987, received the award during a UCEA conference held in Cincinnati on Nov. 2. She is the first female recipient of the Campbell bronze eagle.
