NEW YORK – “This Life,” an outdoor show of 16 large, fiberglass sculptures commemorating Judith Peck’s 50-year career, will be on display March 15 to Dec. 3, 2000, on Robert Moses Plaza, Lincoln Center campus, Fordham University. The second exhibit of Peck’s work at Fordham this year, “This Life” includes the acclaimed life-size, three-figure grouping “Appalachia.” The theme of “people alone and in families” figures predominantly in her work, said Peck, a professor at Ramapo College in New Jersey. “Peck’s formidable intellect is wed to artistic propulsion to produce a remarkable range of work,” said Vivienne Thaul Wechter, Ph.D., University artist in residence and curator of exhibitions and acquisitions. “Her sculpture communicates peace, tranquillity, danger, violence and sensuality.” DATE: MARCH 15 TO DEC. 3, 2000 TIME: 9 A.M. TO 6 P.M. PLACE: ROBERT MOSES PLAZA, LEON LOWENSTEIN BUILDING, 113 W. 60TH ST., MANHATTAN.
