Pulitzer Prize Winning Novelist William Kennedy joins a panel of distinguished writers for Fordham University’s Ninth Annual Russo Lecture, “An Evening With Four Literary Stars,” onWednesday, April 25, at 6 p.m. on the Lincoln Center campus. Joining Kennedy are novelist Alice McDermott, winner of the 1998 National Book award for Charming Billy (Farrar Straus Giroux, 1997); novelist Peter Quinn (GSAS ’75), winner of the American Book Award for Banished Children of Eve (Viking, 1994); and New York Times columnist Dan Barry, whose investigative reporting on the Providence Journal-Bulletin earned him a Pulitzer Prize in 1994.

Kennedy received the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for Ironweed(Viking, 1983), one of his  “Albany Cycle” of novels inspired by his upstate birthplace and current home. The authors will participate in a panel discussion moderated by George W. Hunt, S.J., director of Fordham’s Archbishop Hughes Institute of Religion and Culture, and former editor-in-chief of America magazine.

The Russo lecture series is sponsored by the insititute, through an endowment created by Dr. and Mrs. Robert D. Russo, Sr., (FCRH ’39) and Dr. and Mrs. Robert D. Russo Jr. (FCRH ’69).
