After a day filled with panels, lectures, and remembrances, attendees of the Bronx African American History Project’s 10th anniversary conference kicked off their shoes and enjoyed the sounds of Jimmy Owens and his band, which represented the golden age of jazz in the Bronx, and the group Rebel Diaz, which left no doubt that hip hop shares the spotlight as one of the great music movements born in the borough that Fordham’s Rose Hill campus calls home.
