Benjamin H. Dunning, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of theology, taught a weeklong seminar, “Cultural Theory, Historiography, and the Study of Early Christianity,” for faculty, post-docs, and graduate students at the University of Aarhus in Denmark from May 5 to 9. He also gave a public lecture, “Reading Paul With and Against Contemporary Continental Philosophers: Typology, Anthropology, and Bodily Difference,” in Denmark on May 8.

associate professor of economics, published “The Cost of Private Debt Over the Credit Cycle” in theJournal of International Money and Finance.

Jon Friedrich, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of chemistry, published “A Classroom-Based Distributed Workflow Initiative for the Early Involvement of Undergraduate Students in Scientific Research” in the Journal of Science Education and Technology.

Susan Greenfield, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of English, published an essay, “The Last Lecture: The Virtue of Uncertainty,” in the Los Angeles Review of Books on May 25.

Quamrul Haider, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of physics, gave a talk at the Independent University in Bangladesh, “The Bang in the Big Bang Theory of Universe,” on May 21.

Clare Huntington, LAW,
professor of law, published Failure to Flourish: How Law Undermines Family Relationships (Oxford University Press, 2014).

Joseph Landau, LAW,
associate professor of law, received the Global Vision Award at the 2014 Safe Haven Awards for his service as former board chair of the Immigration Equality and the Action Fund between 2010 and 2013.

Mark Naison, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of African and African American Studies and history, and principal investigator of the Bronx African American History Project (BAAHP), published Badass Teachers Unite! (Haymarket Books, 2014).

Costas Panagopoulos, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of political science, won the Society for Political Methodology’s 2014 Miller Prize for the best article published in political analysis for his article, “Reasoning About Interference in Randomized Studies.”

Michael Pirson, Ph.D., BUS,
associate professor of management systems, delivered a keynote lecture, “Towards a Humanistic Understanding of Management Theory, Practice and Pedagogy,” at EGADE Business School in Mexico City on June 19. He won a 2014 best paper award from the Academy of Management for“Reconnecting Management Theory and Social Welfare: A Humanistic Perspective – Dignity as the Missing Link.”

Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., BUS,
dean of business faculty and dean of Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business, joined the board of the Graduate Management Admission Council on June 12.

Shapoor Vali, Ph.D., A&S,
associate professor of economics, published Principles of Mathematical Economics (Mathematics Textbooks for Science and Engineering) (Atlantis Press, 2014).
