NEW YORK— Fordham will host the fifth annual Ignatian Heritage Week to promote the University’s Jesuit and Catholic identity and celebrate its distinct tradition of education, from Jan. 30 through Feb. 5 on the Lincoln Center campus.

Initiated in 2000, Ignatian Heritage Week consists of a series of programs, discussions and activities intended to help Fordham students examine the life and work of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founding father of the Society of Jesus. Ignatian Heritage Week is also celebrated on the University’s Rose Hill campus during the fall semester.

The week will begin with  a Fordham community Mass and will feature daily events, including “Gospel Limericks: Jesus in Rhyme and Meter,” presented by Joan L. Roccasalvo, C.S.J., adjunct associate professor of theology, and “Examination of Consciousness: Taking Time Out,” with George Drance, S.J., professor of theatre. The movie Ignatius Overview of Jesuit Education Today will also be shown.
