NEW YORK — Fordham University alumna Nanor Kenderian was awarded a Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship to pursue her graduate degree in Oriental Studies at Oxford University in the fall.
Kenderian graduated summa cum laude from Fordham College at Lincoln Center in 2002. She was the recipient of the Jane B. Aron Prize in Philosophy in 2001.
The scholarship was awarded by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, a private organization established in 2000 through the will of entrepreneur Jack Kent Cooke, who died in 1997. The foundation identifies and supports young people of special intelligence, application, deportment and character who have financial need and have demonstrated excellence in academic endeavors and extracurricular activities. The Foundation receives approximately 1,000 nominations for each program, making the scholarships among the most competitive in the country.
