WHO HE IS
Development Officer, Athletic Operations, Office of Development and University Relations
TIME AT FORDHAM
Nearly two years
WHAT HE DOES
Alex coordinates events that are attended by former athletes and donors to Fordham’s athletics program. He also coordinates communications to athletics alumni, including e-newsletters, the athletics website and marketing materials.
BACKGROUND
He graduated from Fordham College at Lincoln Center in 2007 and worked in student affairs at Fordham for about six months before moving into development.
JOB SATISFACTION
“Everything about my job is fulfilling. I feel very lucky that I’m part of a team that helps alumni remember the fond times they had at Fordham. To be able to give back to the community that helped me grow as a student and as a person is something I greatly appreciate.”
ALUMNI CONNECTIONS
“I wouldn’t say that my job requires me to have been a Fordham graduate, but you certainly have to be a fan of Fordham sports to be successful. Being a graduate does help me connect with alumni; having shared common experiences bridges the gap.”
STAYING POSITIVE
“I consider anything that we work on as a team to be a positive experience. We hold so many events each year that we all have to pitch in to make them successful. From the pre-game basketball receptions in the Ramskeller to the Baseball 150th Anniversary reception to the annual sailing luncheon—if our alumni leave pleased and proud of Fordham, then I know I’ve done my job.”
OUTSIDE INTERESTS
“I enjoy reading, various sports and other outdoor activities, as well as Heavy D and the Boyz paraphernalia, just to name a few interests.”
